RROD >:O

Well it happened, my 360 red ringed on me. I am so pissed because every morning all I look forward to doing once I'm off work (I work overnights) is playing a quick round of horde on Gears of War 2 and going to bed. Now it's straight to bed for me. What complete garbage it is to not have a video game console even for like 3 days. I know you think that sounds bad but kindly fuck you, sir. I was really looking forward to relaxing this long weekend with a few rounds of my favourite games. Now I'm forced to hook up my N64 and play WWE No Mercy and Goldeneye all weekend long. "Retro Games Weekend" I'll call it.

Hey that's not so bad.

Ok so lets just name some games that are still easily playable from years past. I'll begin:

Mario Kart
NHLPA '93
Tetris Attack!
Street Fighter II

Now some games I feel do not hold up despite being wicked when they first came out:

Ninja Gaiden
Sonic the Hedgehog
Spiderman & Venom: Maximum Carnage

Maximum Carnage sucks so bad you don't even know. I'm pretty sure you ONLY beat up black people in that game. Not unlike the NES Punisher game, which for sure you only shoot the black people (except the jazzman). Two of the most awful racist games? For sure - At least Punisher was fun to play :\

Also Sonic the Hedgehog is easily the most overrated game of all time. Have I talked about this before? I can't remember.
OK BYE

So many Game of the Year lists

Fallout 3 is almost my perfect video game. It's better than GTA4 I don't care what anyone says. As far as what I would nominate for game of the year, it has to be between Fallout 3 and Left 4 Dead. Ever edging more and more towards Fallout.

I've been thinking about it and I think my 2 favourite games since getting my 360 in October of 2008 are Mass Effect and Fallout 3, with honourable mentions going to Left 4 Dead, Halo 3 and Call of Duty 4.

I think when it comes down to it I like games where I decide not only what my character does, but what they actually say. Mass Effect is the only game where at times I felt like I was playing a movie. To me, that has to be one of the biggest achievements in the history of video games.

Anyways. At work now, but when I get home in the morning, immediately heading for the Capital Wastelands.
